Many members left early and missed being included in the photographs. They went to the Tauranga RSA to watch the All Blacks, on the large screen TV. The All Blacks where playing Australia for the Tri Nations trophy and the Bledisloe Cup.

At this reunion we agreed on 5 yearly reunions, this is because Taranaki, Otago, Southland, Cruiser, Small ships, and indivual branch reunions, you all could feel reunioned out. The other side of the coin, and I have had letters/emails/phone calls from ex crews members who are saying that as we are not getting any younger, true, so lets have reunions every two years. Why not have "Regional get Togethers" every two years, orgainised by a regional representative (any volunteers?). With a major reunion every five years. Lets hear your views on this matter?? - Peter Mitchell -
